Kids and toys go together. If there is a child in the house, more than likely, toys will be present as well. In our case, there is only one child in the house. Therefore, this is unreasonable:
The boy simply has too many toys for his own good. I admit, it's my fault for letting him hold on to a lot of these far longer than necessary. All that changed when we tackled this mountain together. Yes, I let him decide what toys he wanted to keep, give or throw away. Letting him help slowed me down a little but I think it's important for him to be able to "let go" of his toys. Also, it gave him a glimpse of choosing to give.
Of course, I let him keep his favorites like Thomas and Friends and Tinkertoys.
After our efforts, we were still left with a good number.
But, at least, we can now see the floor, :)
